About Me

I am an Associate Professor of Business Law at the University of Connecticut. Prior to joining UConn, I held academic positions in France and Germany and I was a member of the German Bar. My  research focuses on comparing current issues in U.S. business law with European civil law systems, including consumer protection, internet law, comparative trademark law, corporate governance, and law and accounting. I am particularly interested in the positive role business can play in transnational, intergovernmental, and public-private governance, with particular attention to corporate social responsibility. In addition to my international focus, I conduct research in proactive law, contract visualization and legal design.
